Simulation · no real chain dataWatch in ProposalsGuess the next roundWhat you see follows the documented tau-testnet protocol but is generated in your browser. To read a real node, switch to Live node and connect your own node. Experimental community project, no claim of accuracy.
Why this is not a normal blockchain
On other chains, code is law. On Tau, the agreement is law: users write the rules in logic, every rule is checked before it can apply, and nothing changes without the validators’ consent. There is no admin key.
Checked before it appliesA proposed rule is compiled on its own first. If it does not hold, it never enters the chain.see it: Rule changes · “compiled in isolation ✓”
No admin keyNobody can change the rules alone. A change needs the validators’ agreement and takes effect at a later block.see it: Validators · “agreement needed”
Enforced against the key holderYour rule binds your account, not your device. A stolen key still obeys your limits.see it: Transactions · red “✕ refused”
Telegram @tauHUDcom ↗ sends every rule change, chain restart, a weekly recap and each HUD update to your phone, so you do not need to check this page; X @TauHUDcom ↗ posts them to your timeline. Ask @tauhud_alerts_bot ↗ for the height, proposals, your transaction or address.
Most of what Tau HUD costs is time: following a testnet that changes by agreement and keeping the HUD, the alerts and the bot in step with it. The development tools behind that work are not free either. The server is the smallest part. Donations help cover these costs and are received with thanks.

About this page
Unofficial community projectBuilt by Tau community members. Not affiliated with, endorsed by or maintained by IDNI or the Tau team. Data in simulation mode is generated in your browser and is not the real chain.
Follow the chain on Telegram
Every rule change as it happens: new proposal, agreement, activation, dropped proposal.
Chain restarts of the testnet, the moment our node sees one.
A weekly recap picture and every HUD update, so you never need to open this page to stay current.
Also on X: real rule changes, new nodes and the Monday recap at @TauHUDcom.
Ask the bot: height, proposals, your transaction or address. Write to @tauhud_alerts_bot.
Tau HUD is an experimental community approach to visualising the Tau testnet. We do not claim that the information shown is accurate, complete or current, in simulation or live mode. It is not official information, not financial advice and not technical advice. Check anything that matters against the tau-testnet repository and your own node.
Where each claim comes from
Each principle card at the top carries its source. seen on the testnet means we read it from the community node; from the protocol means it is documented in tau-testnet (README and code, pinned to commit 539d1e2) but we have not watched it happen on the real chain yet. The link on each card goes to the line that backs it. Refusals matter as much as the happy path: the simulation deliberately produces proposals that do not compile, rule offers that collide, and proposals that miss quorum and expire (README §Governance ↗); the “n refused” chip on Transactions filters to what Tau refused.
Simulation vs. live node
The simulation follows the documented protocol of tau-testnet: validators vote on rule changes, accounts write and share their own Tau rules, every block is judged by Tau. It is a model, not the real chain.
Live mode speaks the node's raw WebSocket protocol (getblocks, getmempool, getgovernance). The default address wss://node.tauhud.com is a read-only community relay in front of a Tau testnet node run for this page (its setup is public). To read your own node instead, run it with this page's origin in TAU_WS_ALLOWED_ORIGINS and put its address in the field.
Keep it running
Tau HUD is an independent community project, built and maintained by one person in their free time. Most of what it costs is time: following a testnet that changes by agreement and keeping the HUD, the alerts and the bot in step with it. The development tools behind that work are not free either. The server is the smallest part. Donations help cover these costs and are received with thanks. Not affiliated with IDNI.
